Business Process Outsourcing (BPO)
Every company, starting with that baby-businesses like 2-3 employees, ending with giants with thousands of employees – they all have a business process in the background. A business process is like a “path” to some product(s) or service(s). Normally, business processes must be all very well defined and planned, since a wrong business process leads to bad results, which could cause money loss, partnership loss or any other loss that is not at all desirable.
Usually there are three types of business processes. Management processes, operational processes and supporting processes. All these processes are based on customers. Every customer has a particular need which needs to be fulfilled by the company in case. The business process is like the plan to achieve customer needs fulfillment. These can be divided into numerous sub-processes, every sub-process has its own attributes.
Outsourcing is the transfer of some tasks to a third-party company or individual. Generally, the following reasons exist when we think about why outsourcing is profitable:
- Money. A lot of production costs can easily be saved by outsourcing. Cheaper labor force can be found on the outsource labor market.
- Pay attention only to the essence of your business. This way you never get lost among insignificant details, like sections of your business which are needed but not related to the essence (like IT for a post office). Also, you won’t need to hire new stff, new employees to complete these projects for you.
- Quality improvement. Outsourcers may provide higher quality than your own employees, in some cases, for less payment. Even if payment required is the same, still these outsourcers are the ones to give better results for the same money amount.
- Talented young workers. Lots of youngsters are just undiscovered talents waiting to be discovered by someone who wants to work with them, to have them always work at the company in case.
Lots of times outsourcing is criticized. Some people say that it isn’t that safe and sure, still companies tend to outsource as many of their tasks as possible. Sometimes, quality may also be lower than expected. Of course, there is a risk within every single activity, but we can’t live without taking risks.
Business process outsourcing helps companies to be a lot more flexible, their processes are managed by different people or teams of people, so the company managers and employees can focus on other, more urgent and important issues, like how to develop their business further, what to do next in order to maximize profit and how to stay on the market, how to keep the company and the business alive.
As a conclusion, business process outsourcing is truly benefic for almost every company.
